3 Mile Circular Walk starting from Coleshill 12th April 2022

It was a wet morning right up until the time we were due to leave Carterton. Miraculously the rain stopped 15 minutes before 9 members left to meet up with 3 more at Coleshill.

We had not walked this walk for quite a number of years and so it was nice to do a not so familiar one. Coleshill Estate is National Trust.

The Estate have produced a leaflet showing 5 walks all coloured coded.  Today we took the Green route.  The start of the walk was over gently undulating fields with great panoramic views.  We followed the green arrows to Brimstone Farm and then onto a drive for approx ¾ miles.  Turning off the drive, the route took us alongside a ploughed field up an incline to pass Fern Copse, where once again the views were spectacular.  After crossing another field, we then entered the far end of the copse.  This took us to a road which led back into Coleshill village.

The Spring flowers were still in their glory and we could hear lots of chirping from the birds.

Just before our parked cars was the NT café which had recently been renovated; we sat outside and enjoyed refreshments.

Thank you to the car drivers.  Our next short walk will be on 10th May – Moreton in Marsh – Batsford circular.
