Bampton-Weald short walk 14th June 2022 – 3 miles

On a beautiful summer’s day 19 members met at the Recreation field in Bampton for the start of the walk.

Everyone was in good spirits chattering away and with smiling faces.

A very short piece of road walking took us onto a grass lane which then turned to tarmac.

Walking on we passed houses with very pretty gardens in bloom, a pony, miniature pony and llamas.

Another short stretch of road walking took us to Weald and past RAF Bampton Castle.  From here we followed field tracks until we reached the Millennium Woods.  The sky was blue with white fluffy clouds above us; the morning was getting warmer and so the walk through the woods provided some shade.

Once through the woods we walked the path under trees round the perimeter of the recreation field back to our cars.

Some made their way home and some went to the garden centre for refreshments.

Thank you for your company and to the car driver.  Our next short walk is on 12th July at Thrupp.  Pam
