Circular Walk Little Barrington to Windrush – approx 6 miles 15th March 2022

11 members met for this walk some driving from Carterton and some meeting at the start of the walk. Ian and Steve guess what was sat on a wall, the exact spot where we were terrorised the last time we did the walk?  Yes, a pheasant, thankfully it decided to jump down to the other side of the wall and ignored us!!

It was a lovely morning and perfect weather conditions for a walk.   The first part was through the muddiest and steepest of the walk.  As we walked Barrington Park gates we could see a large herd of deer under the trees. It was an undulating walk on footpaths, bridleways and through lush grassy meadows, plus one ploughed field.  Overhead the skylarks were singing, a heron flew right in front of us, sheep were in the meadows and we met Arthur, a pony, and bluebell a donkey.   A continual drone of helicopters flew overhead on their way to Cheltenham Races.  The rolling Cotswold countryside was glorious. There were two short stops for a drink and then drinks and snacks. A most enjoyable walk with lots of chatter and laughter.

Our next long walk will be on 19th April, Bibury – Quenington circular. Pam
