Cycle Ride 4th July 2017

Seven members gathered today for the ride. After having to cancel May’s ride due to high winds, we were all looking forward to our ride. We left Carterton via Alvescot Road, and then took the Filkins Road. After about ¾ of a mile we took the Kencot / Holwell Road, this eventually brought us to the gated road to Clanfield. We proceeded into Clanfield for our refreshment stop; this was at Blake’s Kitchen a, fairly new café next to the post office. My oh my, the cakes were simply delicious, several of us had a cinnamon bun, the best ever. It was Audrey’s birthday, so we sang Happy Birthday to her.  If you are passing through Clanfield I would recommend a stop and taste. Back on our cycles we rode to Bampton and then Brize Norton before reaching Carterton. We saw a few horses in the meadows and plenty of aircraft in the sky. Our next ride will be on the 1st August.
