Just 4 of us for a ride on a pleasant morning. We decided to venture on a partly new route. We left Carterton via the Alvescot Road, took the road towards Filkins and then into Kencot. This road went through the village of Broadwell and then into Langford. From Langford we rode to Filkins. We soon found the Woollen Weavers for a coffee stop, as it was still early in the morning we didn’t eat. We locked our bicycles to a field fence, near to a Shetland pony; we did move them as a suggestion was made that horses do sometimes chew anything in site! After our stop we rode through Filkins village and onto the A361 for about 50 yards and then turned onto a single track lane heading back to Langford. We met 2 large farm vehicles and several cars on this road; I think it must be a short-cut to the A361. Once back in Langford we retraced our journey back to Carterton. It was enjoyable cycling somewhere different and it has given us thought of where we might ride next month. Pam
