Freeland Stroll 14th November 2017

On an overcast morning 13 members met for the walk. We travelled to Freeland and parked our cars in the village hall car park. 4 more members were waiting there for us. It was a very sociable walk with lots of chatter and laughter.
The only wild life we saw were a flock of sheep and a number of squirrels chasing round the trees. Part of the walk was along a wide, set back footpaths; and part over fields that were relatively dry. The walk was mostly flat with one gradual incline and 4 stiles. After the walk we were welcomed at The Evenlode Inn and shown to our tables in the refurbished dining, which looks very nice. All enjoyed scones with cream and jam, cakes and beverages.
Thank you to those that walked and to the car drivers.
Our next walk will be on Tuesday 12th December starting at 0930am to enable us to be in time for the U3A monthly meeting.
