Gardening News

May was such a good month for the club with several new members joining us and two events.

The plant sale hosted by Liz and Neil mid May was a very nice time spent in their lovely garden  with lots of tea and cake.  The plants left over were taken by Neil to the children of a Witney school who were holding  a plant sale in Witney the following weekend for charity so they all found a good home.  Many thanks Liz and Neil.

On May 31st 21 members attended the Burford gardens tour and what a delight it was.  As we waited in the car park it did rain but then I worked my voodoo and the sun came out giving us pleasant conditions to see the four different gardens that we were shown around by the owners.  Each of the gardens were so individual and each one had their own merits.  I think we all picked up some good gardening tips, I know I did and I believe there has been a run on imitation grass for hanging baskets.  I personally loved the quirky garden and am now on the look out for things of interest for my tiny plot !  In the last garden we sat out on the lawn in several of the seated areas and enjoyed tea, cake and chatter.  What a delightful afternoon.   I am going to get in touch with the organisers and possibly do an autumn tour of different gardens if there is any of suitable interest , watch this space.

June meeting is Wednesday 21st 2pm. The generous gardener, tour with tea and cake £8.00  Meet 1pm at the usual place for car share or make own way there.
