Little Coxwell – Ashen Copse – Longcot Circular Walk – 6.5 miles – 16th November 2021
On a misty cool morning 10 members made their way to Little Coxwell where another 6 members were waiting for us. We welcomed Kerry to our Group.
The walk was undulating in places, over fields, lanes and some quiet road walking and for part was quite wet and muddy. Crossing the A420 twice was not easy as the traffic was heavy. Apart from this it was a very enjoyable walk. It was horsey countryside with several fields of ponies. Autumn colours adorned the hedgerows and trees. Looking over ploughed fields, Shriveham Westmill Wind Farm with 5 turbines made a striking picture.
Lunch stop was at Longcot where there were benches, a roundabout and swings to sit on!
After lunch the terrain was mostly flat over 2 fields and then along a very long country lane.
Very companiable and plenty of chatter.
Thank you to the car drivers.
Our next long walk is on 21st December from Buckland. Pam
