Outing to Bournemouth 20th September 2021

What can I say about this outing, well from the start of the day when the coach arrived well in time for passengers to board right until we were alighting the coach back in Carterton, it was an absolutely superb day.  Leaving Carterton at 8am we arrived at our destination at 10.15am, no hold-ups whatsoever. Most passengers found the conveniences, the sea front and sat drinking beverages overlooking the shimmering sea.  The day was warm, the sea calm and plenty of sunshine.  Some members took their own deck chairs to sit on the beach, others paddled, walked from pier to pier (Boscombe), shopped, hired a bicycle and some took a boat ride.  The lower gardens still had beautiful colourful flowers beds and the usual snack/ice cream kiosks.

Walking back through the gardens to the coach 2 singers had set up their equipment and were singing and playing 60’s music and this attracted several members who sat and listened to the music before walking back to the coach.  The journey home was good although we did make a detour due to an incident on the A34 near Didcot.

It really was a fantastic and relaxing day.  Pam
