Outing to Welford Park to see snowdrops – 11 February 2022
It was a beautiful spring-like morning when we boarded our coach, and everyone was in a very cheerful mood.
We had a very comfortable journey arriving at Welford in good time. As we already had tickets (which had a complimentary tea/coffee slip attached) we were able to by-pass the ticket queue and head for the café or the snowdrop walks.
There were several routes which could be taken, one beside the river or one round the woods were the most popular. An array of aconites and crocus adorned part of the walkway. The paths were well marked and not too muddy.
The café/restaurant was situated in a marquee on the lawn. The menu had a good variety of food to choose from.
A little shop sold snowdrops, china, post-cards etc mostly with pictures of snowdrops on. A visit to the church was an interest to many.
All too soon it was time to get back on our coach feeling refreshed from being outdoors and it was a good return journey home. Pam
