S & S Walk 13th October 2021 – Lechlade approx 2 miles
What a fantastic turn out for this walk, 14 members. It was a beautiful afternoon when we met at the Memorial Hall car park in Lechlade.
From the car park we crossed the road into a housing estate, and then crossed the road at the other end. Here we joined a group of children “Lechlade Little Learners” back to their hall. We continued our walk from the end of Shelley’s walk which is a pathway through the Churchyard. Reaching the road where the Trout Inn is situated, we turned right and walked over a bridge and onto the riverbank. Stopping for a few minutes to sit on the benches and watch the boats at St Johns Lock. A few photographs were taking standing next to Old Father Thames statue.
Continuing on we walked beside the river to Halfpenny Bridge. A large flock of sheep were grazing in the field and numerous duck and swans swimming on the river.
It was very convenient to pop into the Riverside Inn for a coffee or whatever was preferred.
Thank you all for coming on the walk. The next S & S walk will be on 10th November at Clanfield. Pam
