Visit the Generous Gardener Cirencester

Well on the hottest day in many years a hardy group of 14 of us went to the generous gardener near  Cirencester and what a wonderful garden it is.  The owner, Mel had glasses of cold water ready for us on arrival and once suitable refreshed she gave us a very interesting potted history of the garden and house.  The 1 1/2 acre garden was broken up into different rooms by high hedging and there was thankfully much shade and plenty of spots to sit and enjoy.  There was also a swimming pool which was very tempting !!  The rose garden was a perfumed delight.

After our wanderings around we gathered back at the house where we were served  more water, tea and delicious cake and scones. Most of us then wandered next door to the delightful church before making our way home.

The next outing is on July 19th which is earlier than normal but it is to the lavender gardens at Snowshill and the next week they harvest the crop. We will be given a tour of the fields and of course there will be many varieties and colours of lavender, the smell should be wonderful. After viewing the lavender there is a coffee shop  and gift shop to spend our hard earned pensions in. The cost of the guided tour is £7.50 and I would like to know numbers of those interested as I have to let them know and we need at least 15 people for this event to take place.

The post code for the lavender fields is WR12 7JY.  We will once again meet in the car park rear of factory shop at 1pm for those willing to car share or meet there at 2pm.  Please let me know as ASAP if you are interested in coming. Ann
