On a grey morning there were just 9 of us for the short walk.
We welcomed Chris and Rita to our Group and set off for Buscot. We parked in the NT Car Park where Hazel was waiting to join us.
The walk was flat and easy, and it was done in reverse to what we normally do. We had never seen so many blackberries in the hedgerows, we should have made it a blackberry walk. It is the place to go if you are looking for any.
We walked over 3 fields until we came to a foot bridge that crosses over the river to the Anchor Boat Club. A little white building near the bridge was once an Inn.
After turning left over the bridge, we followed the river Thames back to the Lock at Buscot. It is a very pretty area with many moored boats. After crossing the lock, the path continued over a weir. It was then only a few hundred yards back to our cars.
Unfortunately, the village café was not open, but we did make our way back to Clanfield and Blakes café; those cinnamon are to die for!
Thank you to Rita for driving. A lovely walk. Pam
