Long Walk 21st July – 6 miles starting from Minster Lovell

9 members made their way to the car park at Wash Meadow Minster Lovell for the walk.

First, we walked to and through the grounds of Minster Lovell ruins and stopped to read the information boards before continuing the walk.

It was a made-up walk which Ian and I had recced 2 or 3 years ago.  The walk was undulating and across fields and some on quiet roads. It is a lovely walk however; it was getting hot by the time we arrived back at our cars. It was the first walk which we had done over 5 miles for a long time.

A lot of birds were flying around by the river; we walked through a field of cattle which was a first for this year. Harvesting was taking place in some fields, cattle being transported in lorries and a strong farm yard smell was noticeable as we passed animal sheds.

I think it was a relief to get back to our cars.

Thank you, car drivers. Pam
