A large group of 26 members gathered for lifts to Shipton-u-Wychwood.
We all managed to park in Dog Kennel Lane, which was rather muddy with potholes filled with water.
As you enter the Wild Garden, stretching ahead of us was an avenue of Lime Trees, some over 250 years old. Snowdrops and aconites nestled in the grass.
At the end of the Avenue is a round pond, home to many ducks, moorhens and is surrounded by willows.
From the pond are canals leading over 3 waterfalls flowing down to the Evenlode.
The woodland areas are left virtually untouched for the wildlife to enjoy and manage.
After our walk we travelled through Shipton in the direction of Chipping Norton to visit FarmEd for coffee and cakes. FarmEd is a Farming and Food Education Centre opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in June 2021.
It is well worth a visit. It was a wonderful afternoon in very pleasant company.
Thank you to the car drivers. Pam
