The morning had been raining quite heavily at times; we did wonder if the walk would still go ahead. By 1pm the rain and stopped and it had got a little colder. However, this did not stop 14 members from joining the walk. It was a new walk to us starting from Long Hanborough along a Community Path leading up to Blenheim Palace. It was a delightful walk on a solid path, through some trees, which ran alongside a river. We came to an interesting bridge and a waterfall. The leaves had started to turn colour and many had fallen and added colour to the path. There was an abundance of mushrooms. We met a gentleman foraging in the wood and he stopped to tell us about the different types of mushrooms.
We parked our cars, with permission at the Churchill Inn which had a café attached to it. Arriving back, we went into the café for warm drinks. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay and chat for a short time as the café was due to close.
Thank you to Terry, Peter and Hazel for car driving.
