Short Circular Walk at Lechlade 9th July 2024

20 members met this morning for a riverside walk at Lechlade. The weather was iffy but it did stay dry for us.

Parking was in the Memorial Hall car park.

A short road walk brought us to the pathway to eventually take us to the riverside. This took us over 3 fields with large puddles and a bridge.

Reaching the Roundhouse bridge over the river we stopped for a photograph.

The terrain for the next section of the walk was rather rutted from cows hooves, a little muddy and lots of cow-pats.

At half penny bridge 5 members left us, the remainder of us walked on to the Lock and the statue of Old Father Thames.

Climbing steps to the road we walked along the road to a path which would eventually lead us toLechlade church and Shelley’s walk.

The most convenient cafe for coffee and goodies was Lynwood where stopped for half an hour to recharge our batteries.

Leaving the cafe it was just a short pavement walk back to our cars.

Thank you to our car drivers. Pam
