Short Walk at Cheney Meadows 13th May 2025

We welcomed David and Marilyn to our group and shared cars for our journey to Chimney.

Chimney Meadows is one of Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust’s flagship nature reserves and is well worth a visit at any time of year.

It was tranquil and peaceful walking over the bumpy footpaths until we reached the bird hides. The wild flower meadows were a picture out in full colour.

We took it in turns to visit the two bird hides. From the hides to the road a walkway had been constructed and is accessible to wheelchairs.

Carrying on we walked to the River Thames. Our return to the footpath leading to the car park was on a quiet lane.

On the way back to Carterton a visit to Bampton Garden Centre was a must where we all enjoyed refreshments and a chatter. Very sociable. The staff were able to sit all 19 of us in the same area.

Thank you to the car drivers. Pam
