It was a dull morning but dry.

The terrain was flat and although not muddy the grass was long and wet. The buttercups had taken over from the cowslips. We saw our first electric blue damselfly and heard a cuckoo. Mike and Pat used the Merlin App on their mobiles which can identify which birds are calling.

Some of the identified were a chiff-chaff, blackbird, robin, starling and several more.

We saw a flock of black sheep with just one white one.

After the walk we called into Bampton Garden Centre for refreshments and met Bill and Teresa for a chat.
